
Buying a 1GB flash drive may not be something to blog about as every one and his dog probably has a flash drive these days. This post is about a small bug during calculation of shipping prices when checking out the order in eBay India. Actually I ordered it on 19th February 2008 and the seller shipped it immediately on the next day itself. But lazy bums in DTDC couriers delivered it today only even though it is an inter city shipment. So I waited to receive the item before posting.

PayPal is now offering Funds Withdrawal to Bank Accounts in India. I think the facility has been enabled before 2 days itself. Today only I recieved an email from PayPal about the new feature. This is sure great news to lots of people in India who are into online business as withdrawing money from PayPal account was a big bottleneck for a long time. That inconvenience was reduced a bit when PayPal earlier announced funds withdrawal to VISA Credit Card. But that was not a complete answer to the problem. So this new feature is a big relief and now other methods of transfering funds like xoom can be avoided.

I just read a post in Metroblogging Chennai, an open letter to the administrative authorities. The post was written by the author Dilip. He has referred to a news article in The Hindu from 2005. Though this is pretty late the blog post was well thought out and pretty much sums up the arguments against the cell phone ban and dress code implementation in Anna University very well. After that many colleges across India introduced some bans which were more or less on the similar lines.
I was also a student of Anna University. Instead of making the college a pleasant environment, as it used to be, their acts are just making the students want to get out of the college as soon as possible after getting a good job (okay the degree also
). Only because of this attitude the students are able to put up with all the crap that is being thrown at them.
