
Kurukshetra, the International Techno Management Fest of College of Engineering Guindy, is back with a huge bang. Quoting from the Kurukshetra 2008 Official Website:
Kurukshetra is being organized this year, from the 22nd to the 25th of January, 2008 at the hallowed grounds of CEG, Anna University, which is Asia’s largest Technical University. With quests, ranging from “OPC” to “Robotics”, from “Business Plan” to “MATLAB contests”, and with a plethora of quizzes, puzzles and coding events to add spice, KURUKSHETRA 08 promises to be a true Multi-Disciplinary concoction.

I just read a post in Metroblogging Chennai, an open letter to the administrative authorities. The post was written by the author Dilip. He has referred to a news article in The Hindu from 2005. Though this is pretty late the blog post was well thought out and pretty much sums up the arguments against the cell phone ban and dress code implementation in Anna University very well. After that many colleges across India introduced some bans which were more or less on the similar lines.
I was also a student of Anna University. Instead of making the college a pleasant environment, as it used to be, their acts are just making the students want to get out of the college as soon as possible after getting a good job (okay the degree also
). Only because of this attitude the students are able to put up with all the crap that is being thrown at them.
