Kurukshetra 2008 - The Battle of Brains

Kurukshetra 2008

Kurukshetra, the International Techno Management Fest of College of Engineering Guindy, is back with a huge bang. Quoting from the Kurukshetra 2008 Official Website:

Kurukshetra is being organized this year, from the 22nd to the 25th of January, 2008 at the hallowed grounds of CEG, Anna University, which is Asia’s largest Technical University. With quests, ranging from “OPC” to “Robotics”, from “Business Plan” to “MATLAB contests”, and with a plethora of quizzes, puzzles and coding events to add spice, KURUKSHETRA 08 promises to be a true Multi-Disciplinary concoction.

Last year workshops as a part of Kurukshetra 2007. With the exception of a few hiccups here and there, the overall ambience was excellent. This year the scale of the event is overwhelming with events like XCEED - The countrywide robotic challenge being conducted at four different places in India. Apart from the exhaustive line up of events, another notable mention is that Kurukshetra is now an event under the patronage of UNESCO.

This year the Guest Lectures are by Mr Vinod K Dasari (COO, Ashok Leyland), Dr. David Pope Anderson (Research scientist Space Sciences Laboratory, University of California, Berkeley), Dr. Douglas Osheroff (Professor of Physics & Applied Physics, Stanford University), Dr. Prasad Ram (Head and Director of R&D, Google India).

Participants can directly interact with the organisers of the respective events in the discussion forum and clarify their doubts. The glimpses of K! 2007 can be had from the Photo Gallery. There is also a Kurukshetra Blog though its not active used.

The Title Sponsor for this year is Vestas. Caterpillar and CTS are the Co-Sponsors among the plethora of others.

Being a part of the early team that seeded the very idea of Kurukshetra in our College, it gives me a lot of joy to see the event at its current incarnation. Kudos to all the organising team members and faculty members for all their work.
