An open letter in Chennai Metblogs about cell phone ban and dress code

I just read a post in Metroblogging Chennai, an open letter to the administrative authorities. The post was written by the author Dilip. He has referred to a news article in The Hindu from 2005. Though this is pretty late the blog post was well thought out and pretty much sums up the arguments against the cell phone ban and dress code implementation in Anna University very well. After that many colleges across India introduced some bans which were more or less on the similar lines.

I was also a student of Anna University. Instead of making the college a pleasant environment, as it used to be, their acts are just making the students want to get out of the college as soon as possible after getting a good job (okay the degree also ;) ). Only because of this attitude the students are able to put up with all the crap that is being thrown at them.

Guess I Was Browsing Too much Today

Suddenly I realised that there were too many tabs in IE 7 and out of curiosity saw the memory usage. IE was using more than 500MB of RAM.
Instead of taking a full screenshot absent-mindedly took the screenshot of the task manager window alone. Forgot how many tabs were there.

Hmm makes me remember the days when 64MB RAM was more than enough :D

Rs. 3,50,000 for 10 seconds for primetime TV ad slots

irrelevant fact: Lot of people get the same amount as their yearly salary :-P

Well I read this from a post from trak.in Indian biz blog. Sure the number of people watching the Ad is such a huge number and it is sometimes very ridiculous during cricket matches but it is important to see how many people really give a damn to these ads when they are just really interested to know the score.
