Dual Core - Do More. The stuff I did in the past few days.

Its been a long time since I updated my blog. Last was on my birthday almost a month ago. The primary reason for inactivity is because of the Dual Core Laptop that I got as a birthday present from my parents (who else c’mon…). It seems ironic but since that is so much computing power that I ever placed my hands on I was indulged in a lot of gaming activities that left very little time for blogging and stuff. So many things happened in this period.

First to start with something about my good’ol PC is passing its final few days in peace. Strangely it has stopped working right on the day of my Dell Laptop arrived in its full glory… lol. I tried to figure out wat the problem is but in vain. I have no heart to ditch that computer so I may upgrade it a bit so that It works for a few more years.

and the laptop config goes like this:

Now I don’t have to wait for a long windows bootup, need not worry about the UPS failure or sit idly staring at the monitor while photoshop saves a 200MB document. Now Counter Strike rocks, yup thats the only game I play :p but still this laptop doesn’t have an external graphics support which I don’t really need it anyway. This is my highest value online purchase. It was smooth ordering on the Dell website. No hassles. Clean service.

Forgot to take my pencil for a Second Assessment test in college… so drew all the graphs and diagrams with pen. Imagine my plight. Questions are no surprises.. but something that still defies my logic is the way professors evaluate our papers.. one of the greatest questions in the minds of students and will be one for centuries to come ;) . And not having your friends around makes college very much boring. Being with juniors is a different experience.

I am still under chemotherapy. Some pain is still lingering around when I do difficult tasks. It will take a few more months for getting cured completely. Some of my medicines have been reduced based on my recent scan reports. Its freaky when you go inside a MRI scan machine. The sound of the electron impingement freaks the hell out of you. while CT scan appears to be relatively safer… maybe the radiation is the invisible evil. For some unknown reasons I still don’t say ‘X-Ray’ the first time I intend to say it. I always start saying ‘Xerox’ and realise how stupid I was and then say X-Ray… may be being an engineering student does the trick… lol.

Your CPU has an FSB of 667Mhz and your memory is running at 266 Mhz… It doesnt matter how much RAM you have if your memory lags behind your Processor… By the way check out if your processor has VT enabled… you can run multiple operating systems simultaneously (with minimal overhead)
