Recently there was a ban on some sites like blogspot, geocities and typepad imposed by the Indian Government citing some terrori$t reasons. The detailed news can be obtained from the following Links.

I know how bloggers would have felt knowing that they can’t access their blogs because the government has banned most of the famous Blogging and Free Website services. Some of the bloggers even follow this as a cult. But there are some solutions to this problem.
Solution #1:
Access your Blog through the Proxy website http://www.proxy.org
There are around 1000 proxies in the website, everytime you use it a random proxy can be chosen and you need not rely upon a single proxy.
Solution #2:
Using a proxy software in our computer. There are almost 100 Free software proxies in http://www.download.com. Among them ‘Proxy+ 3.0′ is most popular among the users. There are two types of Proxies HTTP proxy and the CGI proxy. I think the HTTP proxies are faster than the CGI ones.
The above ones are the technical solutions. Accessing the internet through a proxy is always a bit slower than the direct access. But there is also a time tested way: move on to the service which is NOT banned. If you have a small blog you can you can consider moving to http://www.WordPress.com which is a cool service. All of your posts and comments can be imported into WordPress seamlessly.
This blogging service is recommended in some of the premium institutes all over the world. This is not as flexible as blogspot.com but is professional enough.
It seems the ban would be lifted in a few days but if things like these happen in the future this information might come handy.

One can also access blogs with with BLOGSPOT as URL name thro
http://www.pkblogs.com/blogname
that is
if my blog is
http://www.musingsfrommadras.blogspot.com
use
http://www.pkblogs.com/musingsfrommadras
Interesting but outdated, theres better choices around now
